But when the seeds were little, they held many potential manifestations, including some whose natures possessed the gift of the Five. Those who might once again speak rightly a new Language of Flowers. Those who might escape domination of the false king, and follow their true heritage. Those who might prevent the premature extinction of so much; and that is why I, Tether, last survivor of a long extinct species, have broken my sacred trust with the Council and tried to use the power of Naming to invoke change again; to perceive of a conception that might manifest Starseeds. To bring together one and one to make the One true Namer of the Flower People.
This prophesy the Council has been frustrated from bringing into being for millennia upon millennia. The prophesy holds that from among the Flower People, the last two Starseeds will simultaneously manifest, and be ascendant together as the new Epochal Namer. But if they are destroyed, then will come again the great trial in which the Flower People will vanish forever from the world. Two stones to fulfill the office of the Namer of the Flower People, an absence in the Council that has broken the wheel of continuity for thousands of years; two who may be born to take up their place and constitute The Namer for the next epoch, the first Namer from among the Flower People, to set right the Great Imbalance. Jac and Quoddy are those two.
